Case Study: Prometheus - the significance of proliferation in hardware and content for institutions and audiences

Prometheus and many other bigger films are available to watch on disk or through phones or computers, because of this film companies have had to change the way they distribute and produce a film.
There was a high demand for Prometheus to be streamed through Play Station network, Xbox live and other streaming methods. This was so people can rent the film from these stores, which makes it easier for the audience to watch the film whenever they want.
Most of the promotion for the film was done through websites online. There was a big Viral campaign for Prometheus which features the character Peter Weyland talking about his vision for the future. Because most of this marketing was done through websites it made it more accessible for the audience. By making the website and all other aspects of the marketing campaign available through phones, it will increase the audiences interest in the film and the chances of them going to see it at a cinema.
Most people will only go to the cinemas to see a film that they really want to see these days because the film will be released in many different forms for the audience to purchase and watch it more than once.
